Welcome to the Old Church Surgery

Please do not contact your GP for a COVID-19 vaccine

The first phase of the NHS Covid-19 vaccination programme has started. When it is the right time you will receive an invitation to come forward. For most people this will be a letter, either from your GP or the national NHS. This letter will include all the information you will need to book appointments, including your NHS number. Please do not contact the NHS to get an appointment until you get this letter. Information on the vaccine is available here: https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/coronavirus-covid-19/coronavirus-vaccination/coronavirus-vaccine/

Thank you,

If you have symptoms of Coronavirus (a high temperature or a new, continuous cough) please use the NHS website: https://111.nhs.uk/covid-19.

Only use the 111 helpline if you are unable to get help on line or if you need urgent medical help.

For life threatening emergencies call 999 for an ambulance.

The Practice is able to help with all other medical matters and is open as normal Monday - Friday 08.00 - 18.30 although there are certain times of the day when the main entrance is closed. As a general rule our doors are open each morning between the hours of 09.00 - 12.00. You can contact staff by telephone Monday to Friday 08.00 - 18.30.

A telephone triage system is currently in operation. If you would like to speak to one of our doctors or nurses please contact the surgery in the normal way.

Please DO NOT go to the GP surgery, community pharmacist or hospital if you have symptoms of Covid-19 however mild. The government website www.gov.uk/coronaviris can provide guidance and support

With patients' needs at the heart of everything we do, our website has been designed to make it easy for you to gain instant access to the information you need. As well as specific practice details such as opening hours and how to register, you’ll find a wealth of useful pages covering a wide range of health issues along with links to other relevant medical organisations.

You can now contact our doctors online with eConsult

eConsult provides medical advice at the clik of a button. Here you can learn more about your condition and contact your GP via an online form. This will allow the GP to decide on the most appropriate treatment options for you and you will receive a response by the end of the next working day. You can also request test results and extensions to fit notes.

Access & Parking

The Old Church Surgery is situated within the Silverthorn Medical Centre. The Centre has a car park at the front of the building including disabled parking for blue badge holders. There is normally adequate on-street parking in addition to this. Please respect our neighbours and park appropriately without blocking driveways as we have unfortunately received a number of complaints from local residents of late.

The Centre can be accessed via steps to the main entrance or there is a ramp to the side of the building. A lift is available within the building for patients to access first floor consulting rooms.

Waltham Forest Enhanced GP Service

People living in Waltham Forest are now able to make an appointment to see a GP in the evenings and at weekends.  The Old Church Surgery works collaboratively with Waltham Forest GP Federation (FEDNET) which provides a high quality GP service to residents of Waltham Forest when your GP Practice is closed. Further details regarding FEDNET appointments outside of normal practice opening times are available HERE
